Went to my first convention, Sakura-Con.

This weekend the boys and I went to our first convention! It was so much fun. All of the cosplayers were absolutely stunning. We were able to get signatures from three of the voice actors from Fairy Tail, who all also play many more roles throughout other animes and video games.

The boys and I with Monica Rial. She voices Mirajane in Fairy Tail, Froppy in My Hero Academia and Bulma in Dragon Ball Super. She was so sweet and amazing. Also met and talked with her wonderful fiancé, feel bad I can’t remember his name.
This was when I got my autograph from her first and got a chance to talk to her. Told her my boys would be jealous. Then I brought Jacob back shortly there after and Isaac the next day.

Jacob and I also got autographs from Cherami Leigh, who voices Lucy from Fairy Tail, Asuna from Sword Art Online and Patty from Soul Eater, and Jamie Marchi who voices Cana from Fairy Tail, Liz from Soul Eater and more. They all were very nice and had little conversations with everyone. Jacob also got an autograph from Justin Briner, the voice of Deku on My Hero Academia.

The boys were also able to attend a Q&A panel with Cherami Leigh were they both got the chance to ask questions. Isaac asked how she got into one of her characters, Patty from Soul Eater, which she said her inspiration is her five year old cousin. Jacob asked what her favorite role to play, she couldn’t choose.

One of my favourite things about the whole weekend was seeing all the cosplays. It was obvious how much care and time went into some of them. It didn’t matter if they were made from scratch or bought premade, they were all fun to see. I only wished I had asked for Instagram or Twitter info to tag when I share the pictures. I always asked before taking a picture, common courtesy.

We are talking about doing our own cosplays next year. No idea what I will do yet.

Things we learned from our first con is to bring stuff for autographs with us, ask cosplayers how to beat credit them when posting and I need to make sure my body is better prepared.

I recommend going to at least one con for something you really enjoy.
