New Life
My mind wanders into the unknown Where do I go from here
Is this the start of a new life
Can this be my new reality
The sky seems brighter even in the gray
My shoulders feel lighter with depression at bay
Being me has never felt better
I feel I can face life even in the dark as the light guides me
Today I embark with a new feeling inside
It feels like things are on my side
The battle still goes on and I have new weapons to wield
I use my skills in the battlefield
I know things are temporary
Feelings of being overwhelmed no longer hold
Today I know how to exist in the light and the dark
I have allies on by my side
They hold a light to shine through the gloom
I can walk with my head held high knowing how to live this new life
